Burning Bowl Ceremony -December 31, 2007

A circle of support reflected the circle of humanity at this powerful ceremony of release and renewal. The power of the sacred fire released into the universe all from within us that we recognize is no longer serving us in this process of creating our lives.
Each soul acknowledged from the movings of spirit within exactly what those things were. It arose from within and each released joyfully acknowledging the good that came from these energies. However on our path to enlightenment we realized that they were now limitations to the good that is waiting for us. So supported by those in the circle we opened up our hearts and hands and asked God to remove from within us these old energies.
And as we did, a space opened up for us to now fill with desires of powerful, prosperous new energies we want to experienced. We listened to the rumblings of our hearts and let those desires come forth. We did not wonder how they would happen. We supported each other in knowing that through the power of co-creation that the Divine would assist us in making it happen.
The feelings of freedom that emerged from each individual was expressed verbally over and over again. We are all bonded in our hearts and will be powerful energies of support throughout the year.

Holly Hotel -July 29, 2007 "Test Your Psychic Senses"

Ghosts of the Historic Holly Hotel July 29th, 2007

It was a sultry Sunday evening with a full moon when 13 of us meet for a delicious dinner and tour of the Historic Holly Hotel and a unique opportunity to put our psychic senses to the test. Leading the group was Deb Foggio along with myself. The Hotel was built in 1891 and has been referred to as the most haunted historic building in Michigan. Sounds, aberrations, objects moving, strange happenings and scents have frequently been reported, making it a natural attraction for those wishing to test their psychic senses. And we did, stepping back through layers of history to experience it.

Several of the group members were greeted outside the hotel by a glimpse of a face or a hand in one particular top floor window, which we later learned was the off limits attic. The hotel itself is steeped in history, although nothing is from the original hotel. The hotel has experienced several fires, two of which gutted the building down to the ground. These fires were exactly 65 years apart to the same day and hour.

We moved silently from area to area of the Hotel, stopping to get quiet and feel into what we psychically sensed and make notes. The areas that we stopped at where those reported to have the most activity. Everyone sensed something and many of us had startlingly overlapping experiences when we compared notes after the tour. After revealing the history and what other investigators have found, many members of our group also shared similar experiences to these outside reports.

Several people could smell cigar smoke, reputed to be that of Mr. John Hirst, the first Hotel owner and welcoming host. Two of us detected cats on the ground level of the Hotel and the face of a cat was caught in a photograph taken on the ground level. One person sensed that a child plays with people's shoes under the table in the Carrie Nations Room and a picture is often knocked off the wall there, too. The waiter reported that a picture dramatically fell off the wall during a wedding, balancing itself on a lower ledge and I experienced what felt like a child or a kitten playing with my right shoe while sitting at a table in the Carry Nations Room. Others sensed little girls running up and down the stairs, which has been reported by others visiting the Hotel. Several people sensed women in different dresses. One person sensed an "N" name like Noel. There was a woman who lived in the Hotel named Nora who has been reported by outside investigators as the hostess of the Hotel. Several of our members sensed that "shady" dealings happened in the basement, including prohibition, in what is now the Comedy Club.

Earlier in the evening and shortly after the group was situated in the Dining Car Room socializing, I heard a small dog bounding full speed out of the kitchen, running down the former main entrance hall, barking in a distinct small-dog pitch. I was certain that it was a really dog, although I knew there has been reports of a small ghost dog. At the end of the evening, I asked Stephen, the Head Waiter, about the dog that I had heard earlier. He replied in an earnest tone that no dogs are allowed in the Hotel...and that there had not been any dogs in the Hotel. If that was a ghost dog, then I do not know how to tell a real dog from a ghost dog.

Tapping into our psychic senses proved to be strenuous for some. Our late evening dinner was as delicious, unique and enticing as the Hotel. The spread of desserts were decadent and richly creative, although there were no indulgers.

Our group had a unique opportunity to not only test our psychic senses, but to also compare experiences, which often overlapped. This added to a sense of increased confidence in our abilities with things of a psychic nature, as well as every day matters that tap into intuition. As we prepared to part, thoughts of who the people and animals were and why they stay at the Hotel trickled through the conversations. The mystery remains of who Nora was, what her relationship to Mr. Hirst was and why was a full-size oil painting made of her and hung by the current main entrance? Who was standing in the corner of the first floor bar area? Who had a stroke or heart -related medical event that resulted in left-side paralyzes? The final question of the evening, though, was why is the whole town of Holly beaming with psychic activity?
